In Charleston, it’s considered prestigious to have an address south of Broad Street. So much so, that there’s a term used for those who do: S.O.B.s

Charleston, South Carolina. Regarded by many as the quintessential southern city.  A place where the past collides with the present along cobblestone streets and palatial rainbow colored houses. Where the ghosts of yesterday walk side by side with visitors of today within the old slave market. And where the battle cry of a war long over can still be heard in the quiet fields that mark the darkest days of American history.

Visitors to this iconic city are charmed by its people and culture. They find it warm and inviting and are welcomed with friendly smiles and open arms. But those who live there know that looks can be more than deceiving, they can be deadly.

The Benedict family is more than old money, they are the embodiment of southern blue bloods. With the ability to trace their heritage to the American Revolution, they have built their shipping empire the old fashioned way: through fear and intimidation. They are ruthless in business and reckless in pleasure.

  6. Denise Bone says:

I’ve read every book in the Submissive series (12 so far, to be 13 including the soon-to-be-out Mentor’s Match!)), as well as Master Professor (#1 in the Lessons from the Rack series), & have loved each and every one, going back to re-read many times! I currently am excitedly waiting for Mentor’s Match to be released in the next month, & Headmaster to come out in Feb. 2018. I have referred your books to many other people, & hope they get hooked like I did! I love the variety & adventures in your characters & their lives, as well as their interconnectivity among their group of friends. It makes the characters seem more realistic-like one may not know all of those characters, but almost everyone could very well unwittingly know at least one or two of the couples! It makes you wonder what might possibly go on behind the closed doors of other people, including possibly close friends, family, or coworkers!
The series also exposes a variety in the way each couple has chosen to experience the D/s, BDSM lifestyle, & how they implement it in their individual lives, as well as in their Playgroup. Your novels continually stress the importance of having a Safe, Sane, & Consensual relationship, as well as the importance of birth control & infectious disease testing, & being responsible for each of those. In addition, the Doms are responsible for the subs, & actually treat them with respect, provide after care, & truly seem to care about the effects they have on their subs & the examples provided to new Doms. The couples actually have couples who only live that life part-time, & some who choose it 24/7.
I enjoyed reading Master Professor also, & am looking forward also to reading Headmaster. Please, don’t stop writing the Submissive Series! I love the way you add more characters with such different lives, careers, desires, & experiences, yet continually intertwine their friendships/ relationships via the playgroup.
Having for the most part grown up in Charleston, SC, & currently residing there, I am looking forward to reading Sons of Broad. I’m sure it will be a different experience, but am excited to see what it brings. If you need any Charleston photos for a cover, I would be glad to do some for you! The Holy City is a place with many stories of its own to tell, past, present, & future, & Sons of Broad should be a great read! I apologize for writing so much, but I love your books!!! Keep them coming!
